IN NO EVENT WILL THE AUTHOR BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY DAMAGES, INCLUDING INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, ARISING OUT OF THE USE OF THE PROGRAM, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS -------------------------------------------- The minimum system requirements for this program are: ·· 486DX2/66 processor, and ·· Windows 95 with DirectX or Windows NT 4.00. The recommended system configuration includes: ·· P75 processor, ·· Windows 95 with DirectX 5, ·· 12Mb RAM, ·· sound card & DirectSound certified driver, and ·· accelerated video card & DirectDraw certified driver. The behavior of the ZX Spectrum Emulator under alternative shells (i.e., Program Manager) or operating systems (Win32s, Windows NT 3.XX) is undefined. The ZX Spectrum Emulator may exhibit problems when in fullscreen mode under early betas of Windows 98 and Internet Explorer 4 previews. These problems were fixed in the final release of Internet Explorer 4 and will hopefully not be present in the release version of Windows 98. This version of the ZX Spectrum Emulator will take advantage of DirectX 2 or higher features wherever possible. No specific DirectX version is required, but no extensive testing was performed on early versions. In addition, problems were reported when running previous releases of the ZX Spectrum Emulator under the aforementioned DirectX versions. A DirectX 5 installation is recommended therefore. Problems may arise when running the ZX Spectrum Emulator on Windows NT 4.00 (service packs 1, 2 and 3 included). This is due to the lack of direct hardware support for the majority of display and sound cards (although the situation is reportedly better with service pack 3), on the version of DirectX that is built into this release of the operating system. New DirectX components that may solve these problems, should be available in future NT 4.00 service pack releases. Release 5.00 of Windows NT is expected to provide the same level of hardware support available on Windows 95|98 and do away with any problems altogether.
